Roman Numerals in English - 07

Images | English

Roman numerals are a numeral system that originated in ancient Rome and remained the standard way of writing numbers in Europe until the late Middle Ages. In this system, numbers are represented by letter combinations from the Latin alphabet. Seven symbols, each with a fixed integer value, are used in modern style. The use of Roman numerals persisted long after the Roman Empire had fallen. Roman numerals were gradually replaced by Arabic numerals beginning in the 14th century; however, this process was gradual, and the use of Roman numerals continues in some applications to this day.
