Role of UN in Peacekeeping

Presentations | English

The United Nations has played a role in visually demonstrating cross-national peacekeeping. This contributed to greater global peace, stability, and security. Observer missions and peacekeeping forces are examples of operations that promote peace. The observer mission consists of an unarmed military force and personnel who oversee the implementation of fire agreements. The UN began this in 1940, when the Security Council authorised the deployment of UN military officers to the Middle East. Over 69 peacekeeping operations have been carried out. Peacekeeping operations have involved thousands of military personnel, tens of thousands of UN police, and civilian personnel from approximately 120 countries. The PowerPoint presentation contains interesting information about the topic.
