Role of UN in Human Rights

Presentations | English

Human rights are the detailed knowledge of our rights and freedoms. One of the United Nations' mandates is to preserve human rights. The United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. Since then, a plethora of human rights norms and institutions have been established to promote these rights. Around ten HR treaty bodies, each with an expert on the committee, supervise treaty implementation. The two primary sorts of entities that promote the rights recognised in all UN member nations are charter and treaty bodies. Every four years, the Human Rights Council assesses each member state's human rights record. The PowerPoint presentation has additional information on the subject.
