Presentations | English

"Human reproduction is a remarkable as well as complex procedure, involving male and female reproductive system. Cells involved in reproduction are male's sperm and female's egg. Understanding the structure of reproductive system which is entirely different for males and females is very important in the study of reproductive physiology. Ovary is the gamete producing female gonads. In the reproductive years of a female, they have menstrual cycle occurring every month where ovulation occurs and female gamete waits for the male gamete for completing fertilization process. The embryo gets implanted in the uterine wall and there occurs the development of placenta rapidly. Pregnancy period is usually 40 weeks which ends with labor and parturition or child birth. Lactation is an important part and the complex events of male and female reproductive system is controlled by pituitary, gonadal and placental hormones. A detailed description of this topic can be obtained from the presentation."
