Relational Data model & Languages

Presentations | English

The relational data model is the widely used data model is an approach to managing data using a structure proposed in 1970 by English computer scientist Edgar F Codd. The relational data model describes the world as “a collection of inter-related relations.” Relational data model represents how data is being stored in Relational Databases. A relational database stores data in the form of relations or tables. This model is so straight-forward and simple and it has every property required to process data with storage efficiency. The relational model aimed at providing a declarative method for specifying data and queries. The relational data model was so popular because it provides a dependable method for storing and retrieving large amounts of data. Relational language is a type of programming language in which the programming logic is composed of relations and the output is computed based on the query applied. The functioning of Relational language depends on the relations among data to compute a result. Please check the presentation for detailed description.
