Are the vowels in the key word silent or waiting for their turn? May be yes as its noun has a meaning of a sequence of persons or vehicles waiting for their turn to proceed. In computing, it means a list of data items or commands stored as to be retrievable in a definite order. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings. Well, Queue is one such. It sounds same as “cue” like the letter Q. It is a linear structure which follows a particular order in which the operations are performed. It is not readily searchable. You have to start from the end and might have to maintain another line. So, if you have some data, which later on you would want to be searchable, then don’t even think about using this tool. The first recorded meaning of the keyword in English, from old French, dates from the late 15th century and meant “a band of parchment attached to a document and bearing a seal.” The historical sense “a braid of hair worn hanging down from the head or a wig,” dates from the 18th century.
