"Priyathama" is a romantic song enjoyed by many generations. G Devarajan composed the music for the song from the 1965 film "Shakunthala". Vayalar's lyrics were brought to light by P Susheela, the favorite singer of Malayalees.

പല തലമുറകൾ അസ്വദിച്ച പ്രണയഗാനമാണ് "പ്രിയതമാ". 1965 ൽ ഇറങ്ങിയ "ശകുന്തള" എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഈ ഗാനത്തിന് ജി ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം നൽകി. വയലാറിന്റെ വരികൾക്ക് ജീവൻ നൽകിയത് മലയാളികളുടെ പ്രിയഗായിക പി സുശീലയാണ്.
