Prakasam is one of the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. It has been named after Tanguturi Prakasam Garu, the first chief minister of the state of Andhra Pradesh that was created out of the Madras Presidency. This presentation offers a brief overview of the district, prominent people from the place, the vegetation and other resources of the land, it's history as well as the famous tourist attractions like the Markapuram Chennakesava temple, the 9th century Bhairava Kona Shiva temple, Chirala harbour, Bhavanasi lake, etc.
