It is a folk song by O.N.V Kurup who was a malayalam poet and lyricist from Kerala who won the Jnanpith Award, the highest literary award in India during the year 2007. He received the awards Padma Shri and Padma Vibushan. This is from the drama Ningalane Communist aki and the music has been composed by G Devarajan.
