"Ponmulam thandu moolum" is a song from the movie Chandrolsavam sung by K S Chithra. Ranjith wrote and directed Chandrolsavam, a love drama film in Malayalam that was released in 2005. It stars Mohanlal, Meena, Ranjith, Cochin Haneefa, VK Sreeraman, Santhosh, and Jagadish. As Sreehari's mentor, V. Dakshinamoorthy makes a cameo appearance. Vidyasagar composed the soundtrack for the film. Vidyasagar is an Indian composer, musician and singer who works predominantly in the film industries. The lyrics were written by Gireesh Puthanchery. He was known as Malayalam's aristocratic lyricist, with a distinct writing style of his own. Chandrolsavam is a film about Chirackal Sreehari, a guy who is in love with his nostalgia and is seeking to redeem his past via a celebration of his life, love, friendships, and memories, and it depicts Sreehari's unending love for the life he has lived.
കെ എസ് ചിത്ര ആലപിച്ച ചന്ദ്രോൽസവം എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ് "പൊന്മുളം തണ്ടു മൂലം". രഞ്ജിത്ത് രചനയും സംവിധാനവും നിർവഹിച്ച് ചന്ദ്രോൽസവം എന്ന മലയാളം സിനിമ 2005ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങി. മോഹൻലാൽ, മീന, രഞ്ജിത്ത്, കൊച്ചിൻ ഹനീഫ, വി കെ ശ്രീരാമൻ, സന്തോഷ്, ജഗദീഷ് എന്നിവർ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നു. ശ്രീഹരിയുടെ ഗുരുവായി വി.ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി അതിഥി വേഷത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നു. വിദ്യാസാഗർ ആണ് ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ശബ്ദരേഖ ഒരുക്കിയത്. വിദ്യാസാഗർ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ സംഗീതസംവിധായകനും സംഗീതജ്ഞനും ഗായകനുമാണ്, അദ്ദേഹം പ്രധാനമായും ചലച്ചിത്ര വ്യവസായത്തിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നയാളാണ്. ഗിരീഷ് പുത്തഞ്ചേരിയാണ് വരികൾ എഴുതിയത്. തന്റേതായ വ്യത്യസ്തമായ രചനാശൈലിയോടെ അദ്ദേഹം മലയാളത്തിന്റെ കുലീന ഗാനരചയിതാവായി അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഗൃഹാതുരത്വത്തിൽ പ്രണയത്തിലായ ചിറക്കൽ ശ്രീഹരി, തന്റെ ജീവിതം, പ്രണയം, സൗഹൃദങ്ങൾ, ഓർമ്മകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ ആഘോഷങ്ങളിലൂടെ തന്റെ ഭൂതകാലത്തെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന ചിറക്കൽ ശ്രീഹരിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സിനിമയാണ് ചന്ദ്രോൽസവം. .
