This song “Ponmalayorathu puzhayude theerathu panchami ennoru pennu kumbilinullil kulirumkondu kulikan vannu.. kulikan vannu. Ponmalayorathu puzhayude theerathu panchami ennoru pennu” is from the Malayalam movie “Kanakachilanka,” released in the year 1966. The lyrics was penned by Vayalar Ramavarma and its music was composed by MS Baburaj. The song was sung by P. Shusheela. The movie was directed by M. Krishnan Nair. The movie is the remake of the Hindi movie “Kismat” originally produced by Sunderlal Nahathe in which the lead roles were donned by legendary actors Ashok Kumar and Mumtaz. The movie was released under the banner of Jiyo Pictures and was released on November 11, 1966. The main characters in the Malayalam remake were Prem Nasir, Thikkurushi, Adoor Bhasi, Sheila, Padmini, and Pankajavalli. The screenplay and dialogue were written by Thopil Bhasi.
