Presentations | English

Did you know that India remains high on the list of countries across the globe with perceived political corruption? Corruption is a disease that shatters the cultural, political, and economic fabric of the society. Corruption is generally defined as the misuse of public authority. Political corruption is the corruption in which political decision makers are involved. Political or grand corruption takes place at high levels of the political system. It is when the politicians and state agents, who are entitled to make and enforce the laws in the name of people, are themselves corrupt. The political powers that they are armed with are misused to sustain their power, status and wealth. It not only leads to the misallocation of resources, but it also affects the manner in which decisions are made. It is the manipulation of the political institutions and the rules of procedures. And therefore, it influences the institutions of government and the political system, which frequently leads to institutional decay. Thus, it is the systematic abuse of laws and regulations by rulers to fit their interests.
