Polarization

Presentations | English

It is the phenomenon caused due to the wave nature of electromagnetic radiation. Wave oscillations have a definite direction with respect to the direction of propagation of wave. Linear polarization, Circular polarization and Elliptical polarization are the 3 types of polarization. It is a property applying to transverse waves that specifies the geometrical orientation of the oscillations. Transverse waves like light waves, radio waves, gravitational waves etc show polarization. In sunglasses, the glare reduces by polarization. It is used in the study of earthquakes. Three-dimensional movies are produced with the help of this. Polarization is important in optical communication. Please read the related presentation for details.
