When a place has as rich and ancient a history as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it is but natural for place names to undergo changes through the ages. For instance, the place Karimnagar in Telangana was once called Elagandula. Similarly, Suryapeta was once Bhanupuri, and Khammam was Khamba Sikhari, Khambam Mettu, Khamma Mettu and eventually became Khammam. In this presentation, we bring to you the different names by which some places in Andhra Pradesh were known.
