Paul, a prisoner, and Timothy write to the church in Philippi, thanking them for their gift. It was at Philippi that Lydia and the jailer's family were converted. A book that exhorts rejoicing in the Lord, it has relatively less talks on doctrinal error. The letter shows an enthusiastic Paul who is eager to finish his race well for Christ. He is not discouraged because of the chains or any other such troubles. Instead, he encourages the members in Philippi to live gloriously for Christ, through whom they can do all things. Warning against false teachings, he also states that there should be no confidence in the flesh. Timothy and Epaphroditus, fellow workers of Paul, are commended. Key verse from Philippians: (4:6-7) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
