Performance Appraisal

Presentations | English

A performance appraisal is the periodic assessment of an employee's job performance as measured by the competency expectations set out by the organization. The performance assessment often includes both the core competencies required by the organization and also the competencies specific to the employee's job. There are a number of performance appraisal methods, but three performance appraisal methods are 360-degree feedback, forced distribution and management by objectives. The BARS method is the most preferred performance appraisal method as it enables managers to gauge better results, provide constant feedback and maintain consistency in evaluation. To maintain records in order to determine compensation packages, wage structure, salaries raises, etc. To identify the strengths and weaknesses of employees to place right men on right job. To maintain and assess the potential present in a person for further growth and development.
