Presentations | English

Panic is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause. Panic can be very frightening. When panic occur, you might think you're losing control, having a heart attack or even dying. Panic begins suddenly, and most often peaks within 10 - 20 minutes. Some symptoms may continue for an hour or more. A panic attack may be mistaken for a heart attack. Panic attacks may include anxiety about being in a situation where an escape may be difficult. Panic attacks may change behavior and function at home, school, or office. Some people stop going into situations or places in which they've previously had an anticipation of it happening again. Some people develop a fixed route or territory, and it may become impossible for them to travel beyond their safety zones without suffering severe anxiety.
