Do you know how the primitive animals lived? Can you imagine how they lived without the advancements of science? Do you want to know further about the primitive animals and plants? What is the branch of study related to this? Palaeontology is the study of prehistoric species, mostly ones that are extinct. It focuses primarily on fossil data, using a variety of physical, chemical and biological techniques to analyse them. Palaeontology is the study of ancient life, from dinosaurs to prehistoric plants, mammals, fish, insects, fungi, and even microbes. Fossil evidence reveals how organisms changed over time and what our planet was like long ago. What is an example of palaeontology? An example of paleontological evidence is the presence of rings on the surface of an oyster which represents the number of years of its life. From the shell of this same oyster, palaeontologists can tell the climate and conditions in which it developed. In order to put more perspective to the topic, the presentation can be referred.
