How do we hear sounds? How are sound waves converted into neural impulses? These neural impulses enable us to recognise a sound by the help of brain processing. Have you ever experienced a sudden withdrawal of a body part, for example, when your feet are in contact with something extremely cold? This reflex action is controlled by the central nervous system of our body. Neuron is the structural and functional unit of human neural system, which is again divided into central and peripheral neural systems. When we engage in physical exercise, our body needs increased supply of oxygen to the organs and tissues. This coordination is predominantly controlled by the human neural system.
