Nervous System

"An organ system in present in human body to control and coordinate various functions. It comprises of brain, spinal cord and a large network of nerves which is spread throughout the body. Neuron is the basic unit of this system, which is divided into central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). The brain and spinal cord forms CNS, are soaked in the cerebrospinal fluid and are covered by thin layer of meninges. Brain is the most complex organ which have countless neural connections. Spinal cord is protected by vertebral column also controls bodily functions. PNS is again classified as autonomous and somatic, where autonomous regulate glands and organs while somatic connects CNS with organs. Some common problems of this organ system are epilepsy, meningitis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, sciatica, shingles, stroke etc. Sometimes symptoms may look similar to other medical condition.
