"Malayalam Group Songs Lyricist – ONV Kurup The first few lines ... “Nalla bhumi, nalla bhumi, Nammude bhumi bharata bhumi, Manjuruki kuliraruvi, manjiramani kulungi ...” ONV Kurup was a renowned Malayalam poet. Ottaplakal Neelakantan Velu Kurup was his full name. He was a member of the Kerala Sahitya Academy from 1982 to 1987. He was also the chairman of Kerala Kalamandalam. He was awarded the Gjnanapedam award in 2010 in recognition for his contributions to Malayalam literature in the year 2007. He was also awarded Padmasri in 1998 and Padma Vibhushan in 2011 by the Government of India in recognition of his works. He had written lyrics extensively for many films, dramas, television soap operas, and dance dramas."
