Nalini is a poem written in Malayalam. Kumaranasan's masterpiece has been hailed by many critics as Nalini or A Love. This work was first published in 1911.The theme of this story is the story of an extraordinary love between a man and a woman. The poem is named after the heroine of the love story. The poem also has the poetic name 'Oru Sneham' as invisible love is the main feature of the poem. Nalini and Divakaran were playmates and classmates. Divakaran, who was interested in asceticism from an early age, left the country. Nalini fell in love with Divakaran and started her life as an ascetic in an ashram. Then Nalini and Divakaran meet by chance near the Himalayas. Nalini's dream of life was to see Divakaran. It was with that prayer that they lived until then. Divakaran, she does not know whether she remembers or not. But she said her life was blessed because she wanted to see Divakaran.
മലയാളത്തിൽ എഴുതപെട്ട കവിതയാണ് നളിനി. കുമാരനാശാന്റെ മാസ്റ്റർപീസ് പല നിരൂപകരും നളിനി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരു പ്രണയം എന്ന് വാഴ്ത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ കൃതി ആദ്യമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത് 1911 ലാണ്. ഈ കഥയുടെ പ്രമേയം ഒരു പുരുഷനും സ്ത്രീയും തമ്മിലുള്ള അസാധാരണമായ പ്രണയത്തിന്റെ കഥയാണ്. പ്രണയകഥയിലെ നായികയുടെ പേരിലാണ് കവിത. അദൃശ്യമായ പ്രണയം കവിതയുടെ പ്രധാന സവിശേഷതയായതിനാൽ കവിതയ്ക്ക് 'ഒരു സ്നേഹം' എന്ന കാവ്യനാമവും ഉണ്ട്. നളിനിയും ദിവാകരനും കളിക്കൂട്ടുകാരും സഹപാഠികളുമായിരുന്നു. ചെറുപ്പം മുതലേ സന്യാസത്തിൽ തല്പരനായിരുന്ന ദിവാകരൻ നാടുവിട്ടു. ദിവാകരനുമായി പ്രണയത്തിലായ നളിനി ഒരു ആശ്രമത്തിൽ സന്യാസിയായി ജീവിതം ആരംഭിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ നളിനിയും ദിവാകരനും ഹിമാലയത്തിന് സമീപം യാദൃശ്ചികമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്നു. ദിവാകരനെ കാണുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു നളിനിയുടെ ജീവിത സ്വപ്നം. ആ പ്രാർത്ഥനയോടെയാണ് അവർ അതുവരെ ജീവിച്ചത്. ദിവാകരൻ, അവൾ ഓർക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നറിയില്ല. എന്നാൽ ദിവാകരനെ കാണാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതിനാൽ തന്റെ ജീവിതം ധന്യമായെന്നും അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
