Nadaraja Guru

Documents | Malayalam

Nataraja Guru, a notable social reformer and the founder of Narayana Gurukulam, was one of Sree Narayana Guru's direct pupils. His father, noted medical practitioner Dr. Palpu (Padmanabhan), was educated in England. Nataraja Guru, his second son, was born in 1895. Natarajan resolved to commit his life to the cause of the disadvantaged millions who were socially, culturally, and economically struggling from his youth. His worldview, which has become his life's mission, combines old wisdom with modern scientific exactitude. While in Geneva, his acclaimed works published in a Sufi Quarterly piqued the interest of some of the western thinkers and philosophers of the time, including Romain Rolland, Sir Francis Younghusband, and Somerset Maugham. An Integrated Science of the Absolute is regarded as the most important of Nataraja Guru's works. Nataraja Guru wrote this two-volume book after 50 years of studying science and ideas from the East and West. Nataraja Guru had developed a unitive science in which all areas of human inquiry may find common ground.
