SQL is a programming language that enables programmers to work with that data that was stored in a database system. SQL can be expanded as Structured Query Language. Essentially, it is a language that allows communication with databases in order to manage all the data they contain. Even SQL can be considered as a programming language, it belongs to fourth-generation language (4GL) unlike Java and C++ which are third-generation languages (3GL). The purpose of SQL is to store, retrieve, and manipulate the data in databases. SQL is used in the technology field in almost every area wherever significant amounts of data are involved. SQL is extensively used in finance industry, music applications and social media platforms because all of which involve lot of data processing. Music apps like Spotify use larger databases. So SQLA helps this app to store vast libraries of music files and albums by various artists. Similarly apps like Instagram and Snapchat use SQL to store a user’s profile information such as bio and location, to update the app’s database when a user creates a new post or shares a photo, and to record messages sent from one user to another so the user can retrieve the messages to read again at a later time.
