Andhra Pradesh is blessed with two lovely rivers, the Krishna and the Godavari, and the Bay of Bengal to the west. It also has the country's longest coastline, at 972 kilometres. The tourist department promotes this state as India's Kohinoor. The state's most recognised attraction is the world-famous Tirupati temple. Another well-known Shiva shrine is the Srisailam Mallikarjuneswar temple, which is one of India's 12 Jyotirlinga temples.
