Agriculture is something that is seen as very divine. That is why every thing is done looking at the "Muhoortham" for farming. Each season has its own set of special moments for each variety of crop. Asthila plants and trees should be planted in Asthira rasi. If sugarcane is planted, it is best in the moonrise on Ashwathy day. But in Kachhil cultivation, these are planted on Saturdays without exception. It is believed that roasted beans are the best and chewing gum is the best.
കൃഷി എന്നത് വളരെ ദൈവീകമായി കാണുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ കൃഷിക്ക് "മുഹൂർത്തം" നോക്കി ആണ് ഓരോ കാര്യങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഓരോ വകഭേദത്തിൽ ഉള്ള കൃഷിക്കും ഓരോ കാലഘട്ടവും പ്രേത്യേക മുഹൂർത്തങ്ങളും കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അസ്ഥിര സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും നടേണ്ടത് അസ്ഥിര രാശിയിൽ ആണ്. കരിമ്പാണ് നടുന്നതെങ്കിൽ അശ്വതി നാളിൽ ചന്ദ്രോദയ രാശിയിൽ ആണ് നല്ലത്. എന്നാൽ കാച്ചിൽ കൃഷി ആകട്ടെ ശനിയാഴ്ച ഒഴിവാക്കി ആണ് ഇവ നടുന്നത്. ചെറുപയർ നാടാണ് ഉത്തമം ചതയം നാൾ ആണ് നല്ലതെന്നും വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്.
