Molecules of Life

Presentations | English

Have you ever thought what gives life to living organisms? There are mainly four essential molecules that makes life possible. They are nucleic acids, proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. These gives structure and energy to the cells, helping in performing various functions. Proteins comprise about 50 percent of a cell is the abundant factors found in all living cells. Helps in providing cellular structure and promotes cellular functions, that is why it’s also known to be building blocks of life. Carbohydrates provide adequate amount energy for all organisms. They form the key part of cellular wall in plants and fungi. Lipids found in the human body are phospholipids, cholesterol and sphingolipids. Cellular membrane contains lipids. Nucleic acids are combination of five carbon containing sugar, nitrogenous base and a phosphate group. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is the major element in the genetic material of all cells. More details can be understood from the PowerPoint presentation.
