Mitochondria are membrane-bound cell organelles that produce the majority of the chemical energy required to drive the cell's biochemical reactions. Mitochondria are the gatekeepers of cell death and are in charge of orchestrating cellular energy generation. The classic role of mitochondria is oxidative phosphorylation, which generates ATP by utilizing the energy released during the oxidation of the food we eat. it is the primary energy source for our body.
