Matthew 01

Audio | English

Beginning with the nativity, the book reveals incidents from Jesus' early childhood. After giving away a glimpse of John the Baptist's ministry, the book then follows Jesus, His ministry, crucifixion, death and resurrection. The book involves a lot of parables and sermons that were told by Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount being the most popular one among them. And also, miracles that were done by Jesus. The 28-chapter book ends with the Great Commission. The author of the book, a former tax collector who became a follower of Christ, named Mathew, proves that Jesus Christ is the much awaited Messiah, the royalty from the descendants of King David, who will save the people of Israel from their cruel oppressors. A key verse from the book of Mathew: Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. (5:17)
