In 1965, he was born in the village of Kaithapram in the Kannur district. Kannadi Kesavan Namboothiri and Adithi Antharjanam, both deceased, were his parents. Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, his brother, is a poet and lyricist. He has composed music for over 23 films since then, many of which were directed by Jayaraj, including Kannaki and Thilakkam. K.J. Yesudas, Jayachandran, K.S. Chithra, and G. Venugopal had all contributed to his scores.
ഊരിയാട്ട് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ്"മാതളമധുതൂവുമാർദ്ര". മധു ബാലകൃഷ്ണനാണ് ഈ ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. രമേഷ് പുല്ലാപ്പള്ളിയാണ് വരികൾ എഴുതിയത്. ജയൻ ചേർത്തലയും മാളവിക നാരായണും പ്രധാന വേഷങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ച ഒരു മലയാളം ചിത്രമാണിത്. കെ ഭുവനചന്ദ്രൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് ഭരതൻ നീലേശ്വരം നിർമ്മിച്ച നാടകമാണിത്. കൈതപ്രം വിശ്വനാഥനും സുദർശനും ചേർന്നാണ് സംഗീതം ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരു സംഗീതജ്ഞനും സംഗീത സംവിധായകനുമാണ് കൈതപ്രം വിശ്വനാഥൻ നമ്പൂതിരി. മലയാള സിനിമാ ഗാനങ്ങൾ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1965ൽ കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ കൈതപ്രം ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. പരേതരായ കണ്ണാടി കേശവൻ നമ്പൂതിരിയും അദിതി അന്തർജനം മാതാപിതാക്കളും ആയിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ കൈതപ്രം ദാമോദരൻ നമ്പൂതിരി കവിയും ഗാനരചയിതാവുമാണ്. അതിനുശേഷം 23-ലധികം സിനിമകൾക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം സംഗീതം നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്, അവയിൽ പലതും ജയരാജ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്, കണ്ണകിയും തിളക്കവും ഉൾപ്പെടെ. കെ.ജെ. യേശുദാസ്, ജയചന്ദ്രൻ, കെ.എസ്. ചിത്ര, ജി. വേണുഗോപാൽ എന്നിവരെല്ലാം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പദവിക്ക് സംഭാവന നൽകി.
