Mass communication (or communications) can be defined as the process of creating, sending, receiving, and analyzing messages to large audiences via verbal and written media. These mediums are wide-ranging and include print, digital media, and the Internet, social media, radio, and television. There are mainly four types of Mass Communication: Print Media: Newspapers, Magazines, Books and Novels, Comics, Journals, and Publications. Broadcast Media: Films, Television, Radio. Outdoor and Transit Media: Billboards, boardings, posters, banners. The four functions of mass communications are surveillance, correlation, cultural transmission, and entertainment.
