Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs

Presentations | English

Humans are complex beings and their needs are never ending. Human needs are commonly used to refer to the drivers of peoples' actions, the motives behind human behaviour. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology encompassing a five-tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid. It is proposed by Abraham Maslow in 1943 in the paper – ‘A theory of Human Motivation’ published at Psychological review journal. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is used to study how humans intrinsically partake in behavioural motivation. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often portrayed in the shape of a pyramid, with the largest, most fundamental needs at the bottom, and the need for self - actualization and transcendence at the top. The idea put forward is that the most basic needs of the individual needs to be met before he moves on to achieve higher level needs. The presentation gives in-depth idea on Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
