The song "Mandaarappoonkaatte" was sung by P. Susheela, P. Madhuri, Chorus for the movie Paalattu Kunjikannan which is a 1980 Indian Malayalam-language film directed and produced by Boban Kunchacko. P Susheela is one of India's most famous and well-known playback singers. The Guinness Book of World Records and the Asia Book of Records have both acknowledged her for playing a record amount of songs in various Indian languages. P. Madhuri is the stage name of Shivagnanam, a South Indian playback singer. She has performed Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu songs. She has received the Kerala State Film Award for best playback singer on two occasions. Prem Nazir, Jayan, and Jagathy Sreekumar appear in the film. G. Devarajan composed the music, while Yusufali Kechery wrote the lyrics.
1980-ൽ ബോബൻ കുഞ്ചാക്കോ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് നിർമ്മിച്ച പാലാട്ട് കുഞ്ഞിക്കണ്ണൻ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടി പി. സുശീല, പി. മാധുരി, കോറസ് എന്നിവർ ചേർന്നാണ്"മന്ദാരപ്പൂങ്കാറ്റേ" എന്ന ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചത്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തയും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന പിന്നണി ഗായികമാരിൽ ഒരാളാണ് പി സുശീല. ഗിന്നസ് ബുക്ക് ഓഫ് വേൾഡ് റെക്കോർഡ്സും ഏഷ്യ ബുക്ക് ഓഫ് റെക്കോർഡ്സും വിവിധ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭാഷകളിൽ റെക്കോർഡ് തുകയ്ക്ക് ഗാനങ്ങൾ ആലപിച്ചതിന് അവരെ അംഗീകരിച്ചു. തെന്നിന്ത്യൻ പിന്നണി ഗായിക ശിവജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ സ്റ്റേജ് നാമമാണ് പി.മാധുരി. മലയാളം, തമിഴ്, തെലുങ്ക് ഗാനങ്ങൾ അവർ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മികച്ച പിന്നണി ഗായികയ്ക്കുള്ള കേരളസംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്രപുരസ്കാരം രണ്ടുതവണ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രേം നസീർ, ജയൻ, ജഗതി ശ്രീകുമാർ എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഈ ഗാനത്തിന് ജി.ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം പകർന്നപ്പോൾ യൂസഫലി കേച്ചേരി വരികൾ എഴുതി.
