Kunchacko directed and produced the Indian Malayalam film Shakuntala in 1965. Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair, and Prema star in the lead roles. G. Devarajan and K. Raghavan composed the music for the film. The film is based on the 1961 Bollywood film Stree. The film's opening sequence was in Eastmancolor. this particular song was written by Vayalar Ramavarma, the beautiful composition of G. Devarajan and is melodiously sung by K. J Yesudas.
