Malini nadiyil is a song from the malayalam movie Shakuntala which is a 1965 Indian Malayalam film. Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair, and Prema play the key roles in the film. It was sung by K J Yeshudas and P Susheela. The film is based on the Bollywood film Stree, which was released in 1961. The film's opening segment was shot in Eastmancolor. Lyrics are written by Vayalar Ramavarma and the music is composed by G. Devarajan and K. Raghavan. Raghavan is often credited with the renaissance of Malayalam film music. He is credited with being the first to provide Malayalam film songs with their unique tunes and styles. Durvasa, a great rishi, cursed Shakuntala predicting that the person she was dreaming of would forget about her completely. Realizing that his rage was unjustified, the rishi changed his curse, saying that if the person who had forgotten Shakuntala presented him a personal symbol, he would remember everything again.
1965-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമായ ശകുന്തളയിലെ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ് "മാലിനി നദിയിൽ". പ്രേം നസീർ, സത്യൻ, തിക്കുറിശ്ശി സുകുമാരൻ നായർ, പ്രേമ എന്നിവരാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. കെ.ജെ യേശുദാസും പി സുശീലയും ചേർന്നാണ് ഈ ഗാനം ആലപിച്ചത്. സ്ത്രീ എന്ന ബോളിവുഡ് ചിത്രത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയാണ് ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യഭാഗം ഈസ്റ്റ്മാൻ കളറിലാണ് ചിത്രീകരിച്ചത്. വയലാർ രാമവർമയുടെ വരികൾക്ക് ജി.ദേവരാജനും കെ.രാഘവനും ചേർന്നാണ് സംഗീതം നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്ര സംഗീതത്തിന്റെ നവോത്ഥാനത്തിന് രാഘവൻ മാഷ് പലപ്പോഴും അംഗീകാരം നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. മലയാള സിനിമാ ഗാനങ്ങൾക്ക് തനതായ ഈണങ്ങളും ശൈലികളും നൽകിയ ആദ്യ വ്യക്തി എന്ന ബഹുമതി അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുണ്ട്. ഒരു മഹാ ഋഷിയായ ദുർവാസൻ ശകുന്തളയെ ശപിച്ചു, അവൾ സ്വപ്നം കാണുന്നയാൾ അവളെ പൂർണ്ണമായും മറക്കുമെന്ന് പ്രവചിച്ചു. തന്റെ രോഷം ന്യായമല്ലെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ ഋഷി, ശകുന്തളയെ മറന്ന ആൾ തനിക്ക് ഒരു വ്യക്തിഗത ചിഹ്നം സമ്മാനിച്ചാൽ, എല്ലാം വീണ്ടും ഓർമ്മിക്കുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ശാപം മാറ്റി.
