Mahakavi Dhurjati was one among the 'Ashta Diggajulu' or the eight literary and scholarly gems of the court of the Vijayanagara Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya. Born in the late 15th century, he was a great Shiva devotee and is best known for books like the Srikalahasthi Mahatyam and Srikalahasthi Satakam among others.
