The symbol of Mahabubnagar District of Telangana is a large Banyan Tree. This tree is called the ‘Pillamarri Tree’. It is estimated that this particular tree is about 700 years old. In terms of its size, this tree is the third largest Banyan tree in the country. Tourists from across the land come to visit this place every day. What’s more interesting is that this place is not merely known for its tree but for the various Hindu temples and Islamic tombs built near it. మహబూబ్ నగర్ జిల్లా చిహ్నం పిల్లలమర్రి వృక్షం. ఈ మర్రి వృక్షం సుమారు 700 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం నాటిదని పరిశోధకుల ద్వారా మనకు తెలుస్తుంది. ఇక్కడ ఉన్న మర్రి వృక్షం భారతదేశంలో పరిమాణంలో మూడవ స్థానాన్ని ఆక్రమించించింది. ప్రతి నిత్యం ఈ మహావృక్షాన్ని సందర్శించడానికి దూర ప్రాంతాలనుండి యాత్రికులు వస్తుంటారు. ఇక్కడ మహమ్మదీయులకు సంబంధించిన సమాధులు, అలాగే హిందూ ఆలయాలు ఒకే చోట నిర్మితం కావటం ఇక్కడి విశేషం. ఈ మర్రి వృక్షం గురించి, దాని చుట్టూ ఉన్న ఆలయాలు, సమాధులు, పర్యాటక ప్రదేశాల గురించి మరిన్ని విశేషాలు ఈ ప్రదర్శనలో తెలియజేయడం జరుగుతోంది.
