Marivillin thenmalare' is a song from the drama Ningalenne Communistakki sung by K S George. It's lyrics were penned by O N V Kurup and the music was composed by G Devarajan in Mohanam Raga. On December 6, 1952, the drama was first performed in Chavara, Kollam. It depicted an old man's transformation from a conservative upper-caste Hindu to a Communist. The performance was a protest against Kerala's feudalism, and it was a rallying cry for people to rise up and combat injustice and exploitation. This drama has remained the most popular in Malayalam since its debut, having been played over ten thousand times and having had a significant impact on Kerala's political history. Under the pseudonym Soman, Thoppil Bhasi, a young Communist activist who was underground for political reasons, created the drama.
കെ എസ് ജോർജ്ജ് പാടിയ നിങ്ങളെന്ന കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റാക്കി എന്ന നാടകത്തിലെ ഗാനമാണ് 'മാരിവില്ലിൻ തേൻമലരേ'. ഒ എൻ വി കുറുപ്പിന്റെ വരികൾക്ക് മോഹനം രാഗത്തിൽ ജി ദേവരാജൻ സംഗീതം പകർന്നു. 1952 ഡിസംബർ ആറിന് കൊല്ലം ചവറയിലാണ് നാടകം ആദ്യമായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഒരു യാഥാസ്ഥിതിക സവർണ ഹിന്ദുവിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റിലേക്കുള്ള ഒരു വൃദ്ധന്റെ പരിവർത്തനത്തെ അത് ചിത്രീകരിച്ചു. കേരളത്തിലെ ഫ്യൂഡലിസത്തിനെതിരായ പ്രതിഷേധമായിരുന്നു പ്രകടനം, അനീതിക്കും ചൂഷണത്തിനും എതിരെ പോരാടാനും ജനങ്ങൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റുവരാനുമുള്ള ഒരു ഘോഷയാത്രയായിരുന്നു അത്. പതിനായിരത്തിലധികം തവണ കളിക്കുകയും കേരള രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ നിർണ്ണായക സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തുകയും ചെയ്ത ഈ നാടകം അരങ്ങേറ്റം മുതൽ മലയാളത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും ജനപ്രിയമായി തുടരുന്നു. സോമൻ എന്ന ഓമനപ്പേരിൽ, രാഷ്ട്രീയ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ ഉള്ളിലായിരുന്ന യുവ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പ്രവർത്തകൻ തോപ്പിൽ ഭാസിയാണ് നാടകം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചത്.
