Maamaramo Poomaramo is a song from the movie Ponni sung by P Madhuri. The music was composed by G. Devarajan with lyrics by P. Bhaskaran. It is a 1976 Indian Malayalam-language film written and directed by Thoppil Bhasi and based on the novel of the same name by Malayattoor Ramakrishnan. M. O. Joseph produced the film under the Manjilas banner, with cinematography by Balu Mahendra and editing by M. S. Mani. Kamal Haasan and Lakshmi star in the film, which also features M. G. Soman, Adoor Bhasi, Sankaradi, Janardhanan, and Rajakumari in supporting roles. Kollimalai Maaveeran was the Tamil title, and Kondaraju Koyapilla was the Telugu title. The tribes of Attappady, Kerala, practise slash-and-burn agriculture, as seen in this film. When the government declares that this system must end, they are compelled to seek alternative sources of income.
