What is logistics, and why is it important in private companies and public organisations? Logistics is that part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services and related information from the point of order to the point of consumption in order to meet customers’ requirements. It has become important for growing service organisations both private and public to fulfil customer request and utilising such network to fulfil the wants or needs of the customer request in a timely manner. Logistics can reduce the enterprise cost, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the management of the flow of goods and services. It includes the moving and storing of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and products from point of origin to point of consumption.
