Logic Gates

Presentations | English

What is a Logic Gate? A Logic Gate is a device that acts as a building block for digital circuits. They perform basic logical functions that are fundamental to digital circuits. These gates are implemented using electronic switches such as diodes and transistors. It is an idealized model of computation or physical electronic device implementing a Boolean function, a logical operation performed on one or more binary inputs that produce a single binary output. Logic gates perform basic logical functions, where they take an input of two binary values, and output a single value 1 or 0. Computers use logic gates to transform the 1s and 0s from input wires. A logic gate accepts inputs and then outputs a result based on their state. Logic gates are used in microcontrollers, microprocessors, electronic and electrical project circuits, and embedded system applications. The basic logic gates are categorized into seven types. They are AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, XNOR, and NOT.
