Dr. Marri Chennareddy is a political leader who needs no introduction in the political scenario of joint Andhra Pradesh. He has been one of the foremost leaders from the state demanding a separate state of Telangana. He was the founder of the political party, Telangana Praja Samithi. Due to the existing political conditions in the country, he had to merge his party with the Indira Gandhi-led Congress. Marri Chenna Reddy had served as the Governor of Punjab for some time but due to difference with Mrs Gandhi, he quit his post.
