This book was primarily for the priestly tribe of Israel – Levi. It is set from where God guides them to Mount Sinai to their journey till Canaan. Leviticus is a book with detailed description on “How To’s” and “Don’t o’s.” It talks about the laws given to God’s people for their sacrifices and festivals. The customs, especially the sin and guilt offerings, provide the means to gain forgiveness for sins and purification from impurities so that God can continue to live in the Tabernacle. Apart from these, there are detailed descriptions on the dietary restrictions to keep them holy.
