Level Measurement - Part 2

Presentations | English

The reflex gauge glass is another form of gauge glass. These instruments are critical in ensuring that levels in silos, tanks, and vessels remain within safe operating limits. This not only safeguards equipment, but also helps to avoid environmental and safety risks. One side of the glass section is prism-shaped in this type. The light rays flow through the glass at a 45-degree angle, striking the inner surface of the glass. The gauge glass appears silvery-white as a result of this. The light is refracted into the chamber by the prisms in the section of the chamber with the water-glass interface. Because the essential angle for light to flow from glass to water is 62 degrees, there is no reflection of light back to the gauge glass's outside surface. Because it is easy to see through the water to the black-painted walls of the chamber, the glass seems to be black. Read to know more.
