So many theories speak about bringing changes in society, but only law can accomplish them. Laws are rules according to which the society should be regulated or controlled. A change in existing living in a society can be called as a social change. The rules and society are undulating. Law should be the mirror to relate people with each other. Theories of social change are linear and cycle types. Some acts which brought social changes are the Hindu marriage act in 1955, which encouraged monogamy. Untouchability is an offense according to untouchability offense act. Absolute right over the property of woman which was came to existence into the society by in Hindu succession act. Law was always used to bring positive changes like demolition of certain culture and traditions and bringing in peace.
