The Kerala Legislative Assembly comprises of 140 elected representatives from the state of Kerala. Besides these 140 members, there is one member who’s nominated by the Governor of Kerala from the Anglo Indian community of the state. The Speaker M B Rajesh is considered to be the primary member of the Assembly. Currently the leader of the Assembly is Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief minister of Kerala. Currently V D Satheeshan stands as the Opposition Leader of the Assembly.
കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട 140 പ്രതിനിധികൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നതാണ് കേരള നിയമസഭ. ഈ 140 അംഗങ്ങൾക്ക് പുറമേ, സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ആംഗ്ലോ ഇന്ത്യൻ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്ന് കേരള ഗവർണർ നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ചെയ്ത ഒരു അംഗവും കൂടി ഉണ്ട്. നിലവിലെ സ്പീക്കർ എം ബി രാജേഷിനെ നിയമസഭയിലെ പ്രാഥമിക അംഗമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. നിലവിൽ കേരള മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയനാണ് നിയമസഭാ നേതാവ്. വി ഡി സതീശൻ ആണ് നിലവിലെ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ്. ഓരോ എം ൽ എ ക്കും ഒരു എം പി യുടെ എന്ന പോലെ അധികാരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.
