“Karukakkattil Menjunadannoru” is a beautiful song from the Malayalam drama titled Kaakkaponnu by Kaalidasakalaa kendra, which was released in the year 1961. It starts with the line “Karuka kaattil menju nadannoru kasthoori maane njangal”. This song was beautifully composed by the famous music director G. Devarajan. The lyrics for this song were written by O N V Kurup. “Aadhiyilla anthamilla”, “Minnunnathellaam ponnalla”, “manathe mazhavillinu ezhuniram” are the other songs from this Malayalam drama.
1961-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ കാളിദാസകലാ കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെ കാക്കപ്പൊന്ന് എന്ന മലയാള നാടകത്തിലെ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു ഗാനമാണ് കറുകക്കാട്ടിൽ മേഞ്ഞുനടന്നൊരു. “കറുക കാട്ടിൽ മേഞ്ഞു നടന്നൊരു കസ്തൂരി മാണി ഞാൻ” എന്ന വരിയിൽ തുടങ്ങുന്നു. പ്രശസ്ത സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ ജി.ദേവരാജനാണ് ഈ ഗാനം മനോഹരമായി ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഒ എൻ വി കുറുപ്പാണ് ഈ ഗാനത്തിന്റെ വരികൾ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. “ആദിയില്ല അന്തമില്ല”, “മിന്നുന്നതെല്ലാം പൊന്നല്ല”, “മാനത്തെ മഴവില്ലിനു ഏഴുനിറം” എന്നിവയാണ് ഈ മലയാള നാടകത്തിലെ മറ്റ് ഗാനങ്ങൾ.
