“Kanyaadaanam “ is a Malayalam movie song which was sung by Ganagandharvan K J Yesudas and B Vasantha together for the movie Cheenavala which was released in the year 1975. This movie was produced and directed by Kunchacko under Udaya production company. The film actors Prem Nazir, Jayabharathi, K. P. A. C. Lalitha and Adoor Bhasi were the actors who played the lead character roles. This song was composed by music director M K Arjunan. Balu Mahendra did the cinematography for this movie.
1975ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ചീനവല എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ഗാനഗന്ധർവൻ കെ ജെ യേശുദാസും ബി വസന്തയും ചേർന്ന് പാടിയ മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്രഗാനമാണ് “കന്യാദാനം”. ഉദയാ പ്രൊഡക്ഷൻ കമ്പനിക്ക് കീഴിൽ കുഞ്ചാക്കോയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ച് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തത്. ചലച്ചിത്ര നടൻമാരായ പ്രേം നസീർ, ജയഭാരതി, കെപിഎസി ലളിത, അടൂർ ഭാസി എന്നിവരും പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ എം കെ അർജുനനാണ് ഈ ഗാനം ചിട്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ബാലു മഹേന്ദ്രയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന് ഛായാഗ്രഹണം നിർവഹിച്ചത്.
