J. Sasikumar directed and E. K. Thyagarajan produced Lakshmi, a 1978 Indian Malayalam film. Prem Nazir, Sheela, Vijayasree, and Adoor Bhasi play the lead parts in the film. G. Devarajan composed the film's soundtrack. Nambiathusseril Varkey John, better known by his screen name Sasikumar (14 October 1927 – 17 July 2014), was an Indian film director who worked in Malayalam cinema. He has made more than 141 films in his career, which began in the mid-1960s, and is widely considered as one of the most prolific and important film directors in the history of Indian and international cinema. Because of the commercial success of his films, he is known as Hitmaker Sasikumar. He received the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema, in 2012.
