Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu is one of the greatest social reformers the Telugu people have been blessed with. Born in 1848, he was one of the pioneers of the land to promote women's education. He strived to dissolve the castelines that divided people. He made sure that people of all castes including the untouchables received education on a common level, in the same classrooms. He even bought books and writing material for the poor children with his own money. He established the Brahmo Samaj in Andhra Pradesh.
